Here are some of the more common and popular football betting odds clearly explained with relevant examples.

Full Time Result Odds
Let’s begin with Full Time Result odds. The ‘full time result’ relates to the status of the match when the full 90 minutes has been played. These odds have nothing to do with the match going into Extra Time or Penalties.
There are three full time outcomes:
- Team A wins
- Team B wins
- The match ends in a draw
Let’s take a look at the Full Time Result odds for the European Friendly match between Nashulta GOIF and Eskiltuna FC.

As you can see from the above, the odds on Nashulta GOIF winning the match are 9/1 and the odds on Eskiltuna FC winning the match are 1/8. The odds on the match ending in draw are 8/1.
Double Chance Odds
Double Chance odds involves selecting two of the Full Time Result odds. If either of these full time results occurs, you win the bet.
Again, there are three options here:
- Team A wins or the match ends in a draw
- Team B wins or the match ends in a draw
- Team A or Team B wins
Let’s take a look at the odds on the Double Chance odds from the European Friendly match we used above.

In this case, the odds on Nashulta GOIF winning the match or the match ending in a draw are 4/1. The odds on the match ending in a draw or Eskiltuna winning the match are 1/33. The odds on the either Nashulta GOIF or Eskiltuna winning the match are 1/28.
Half Time/Full Time Odds
At the end of the first half, either one team will be winning, or the match will be level. At the end of the 90 minutes, wither one team will have won or the match will ended in a draw. The Half Time/Full Time odds allows you to place a bet on getting the outcome at the end of the first half and the full time outcome correct.
There are basically 9 permutations here:
- Team A is winning at half time and goes on to win the match
- Team A is winning at half time but the match ends in a draw
- Team A is winning at half time but Team B goes on to win the match
- The teams are level at half time but Team A goes on to win the match
- The teams are level at half time and the match ends in a draw
- The teams are level at half time but Team B goes on to win the match
- Team B is winning at half time but Team A goes on to win the match
- Team B is winning at half time but the match ends in a draw
- Team B is winning at half time and goes on to win the match

Half Time / Full Time Correct Score
These odds involve you predicting what the score will be at the end of the first half and what the score will be at the end of the match. If you get both correct, you win your bet.
Certain scores might be offered, but you can (as you will see in the below screenshot) also request your own and be given odds on these happening.

Goals Over/Under
Will there be more than one goal scored in the match? Will there be more than 2, 3 or 4 etc.? Or will there be less than one goal scored in the match? Or less than 2, 3, or 4 etc.?
As you will see from the Goals Over/Under odds below, these odds are presented in a specific way. So, for example, odds on there being more than two goals in a match are presented as Over 2.5 goals. This comes from the Asian betting odds, where Over 2.0 goals means something different. Also, if the odds are presented as Over 2.5, there is no confusion about what happens if there are only 2 goals scored in the match (2 is less than 2.5, so you lose!).

Goals Over/Under odds do not relate the exact score at the end of the match. They have to do with there being either more or less goals scored than the number selected. So, if you bet on there being over 2.5 goals in a match, you win if there are 3 goals scored. You also win if there are 4, 5 , 6 or more goals scored. If you place a bet on there being Under 2.5 goals scored, you win if there are 2 goals scored in the match. You also win if there are 1 or no goals scored.
First Half Goals Over/Under
Again, just as with the Goals Over/Under above, these odds do not relate to the specific number of goals scored by the end of the first half. So, if you place a bet on Over 1.5 First Half Goals odds, you win if there are 2 or more goals scored in the half. Likewise, if you place a bet on there being Under 3.5 First Half Goals, for example, your bet wins if there are 3 or less goals scored in the first half.
Asian Handicap odds
These are like the Full Time Result odds we described above, but with a twist! With Asian Handicap odds, teams are handicapped according to their form. The objective is to even the field, so to speak. So, the stronger team (i.e., the team expected to win the match) will start the match as if they are a number of goals down.

Let’s take the European Friendly match that we have been focusing on in this post. Eskiltuna are strong favourites to win the match. Their Full Time Result odds are 1/8, meaning that if you put £8 on them winning the match, you will win £1 if this happens. But with the Asian Handicap odds, it is as if Eskiltuna are starting the game 2 goals down, and have to come back from this to win. They will have to score three more goals than Nashulta GOIF to overcome this deficit and ‘win’. The odds on them winning the match with this handicap in place are 1.875 (Asian odds are always given in decimal). So, if you place £8 on this, you will win £7 if it happens.
Conversely, with Asian Handicap odds, the weaker team start the match as if they are already a number of goals up. In the case of Nashulta GOIF, they begin as if they already have a two goal lead. If you place a bet on these odds, you will win if Eskiltuna FC cannot overcome this.
Goal Line odds

Goal line odds are basically a form of Asian Over/Under Goals odds. Unlike the standard Over/Under Goals odds, which we explained earlier, Goal Line odds are presented as Over 2.0 or Over 3.0 etc. If you place a bet on there being Over 2.0 goals, you will win if there are 3 goals, scored or 4, 5, 6 etc. goals scored in the match. You will lose if there is only a single goal scored in the match, or none at all.
So far, the same as the Over/Under Goals odds above. However, if exactly 2 goals scored, your bet will be refunded. In the case of the Nashulta GOIF v Eskiltuna FC Goal Line odds pictured above, you will win the Over 5.0 bet if there are 6, 7 8 … or more goals scored in the match. You will lose the bet if there are 4 or less goals scored. However, you will be refunded your bet if there are exactly 5 goals scored.
Draw No Bet odds

These odds are similar to the Full Time Result odds. You are basically betting on one of the teams to win the match in the 90 minutes. However, if the match ends in a draw, you get your money back. So why, you ask, would you go for Full Time Result odds over Draw No Bet odds? Well, basically, you get better odds with Full Time Result, because you are taking a greater risk. As you can see, the odds on Eskiltuna winning the match with Draw No Bet odds are 1/12, whereas the Full Time Result odds are 1/8.
